Continue along the track that goes through the monastery complex and the far end of the island is only a few minutes drive away. The breeze that never fails to cool, even on the hottest day, ruffles the two flags that fly from a high rock, while sea birds ride the thermals above. Thrift and wild statice bloom on the rocky terrain and out to sea in the swirl of the converging tides, the Zafer Adalari (Klidhes Islands) keep constant sentry duty. On the way to the end, the road passes the old British Customs Houses now converted into the Sea Bird Motel that will provide a delicious lunch and has the additional benefit of a beautiful sandy cove with azure water.
