Turkish Cypriot People & Life

The Turkish Cypriot people are well known for their hospitality and are very friendly and  welcoming.

The people are warm natured and will be happy to invite you into their homes for a cup of tea or Turkish coffee and a chat even if you have just been introduced.

Don’t be surprised if you break down in your car or see someone thumbing a lift which is not usual to see the north Cyprus someone will always stop and offer their help.

This is old fashioned courtesy that is lacking in the modern world today but you will feel the safe and comfortable  within in the community.

Family is very important to Turkish Cypriots people they have a real sense of family value and loyalty.

Lavinia Neville Smith
Lavinia Neville Smith first came to North Cyprus in 1995, and fell in love with the country and the Turkish Cypriot people. A self confessed dilettante, with a varied working career, it was not until she returned in 1997 and went into tourism that she was able to put to good use her knowledge of history, ancient and modern, acquired long ago at school. She is a co-author of the Landmark Visitors Guide to North Cyprus, and continues to promote this beautiful country as far afield as possible.
