Guido’s restaurant is situated on the main road in Alsancak, set back in a small parade of shops.
The restaurant provides a small outdoor seating area, however this is located in the car park so it is preferable to dine indoors. The interior is basically furnished with wrought iron tables and chairs. The kitchen is located on the upper mezzanine floor which allows you to smell the delicious aromas of your meal being cooked.
At the front of the restaurant they have a delicatessen counter where you can buy various Italian foods such as parma ham, salami’s, pate’s and a selection of imported Italian cheeses to take home with you. They will also vacuum pack your favourite dishes from the Bistro for you to enjoy at home.
The menu reads like an Italian opera, with dishes named after some of the most popular Italian operas for example as a starter you can have the “Il Trovatore”, which is a selection of cold meats from the deli counter. For the main course they offer dishes such as “Pasta Madame Butterfly”, which is fresh butterfly shaped pasta with asparagus tips, peas, fresh mint and cream. The food is reasonably priced with starters priced at between 10-15TL (approx. £4 – £6) and main courses ranging from 15-20TL (approx. £6 – £8).
Guido’s pride themselves with the fresh Italian ground coffee they serve, which for coffee lovers will provide a perfect end to your meal.
