Located in the heart of the charming village of Bellapais, the Tree of Idleness restaurant is situated under a 200 year old Robenia tree. This is the same tree under which author Lawrence Durrell wrote his autobiographical book “Bitter Lemons of Cyprus”.
The Tree of Idleness offers an unforgettable evening meal overlooked by the magical Bellapais Monastery, with the sweet fragrances of jasmine flowers.
The restaurant’s speciality is the fixed menu, which is priced at 35TL per person (approx. £14). The meal commences with 14 cold starters, 4 hot appetizers and then a choice of 1 main course from a selection of meat or fish followed by seasonal fruit for dessert.
A snack menu and a drinks only menu are also available during the daytime. Saturday nights are Cypriot night where you can enjoy the fixed menu with the added entertainment of a traditional belly dancer and live music.
